NICK MALICKA, SINGER and GUITARIST
A musician specializing in guitar, mandoline, harmonica, bouzouki and banjo, Nick is also a singer and a songwriter. He has been playing gigs for over 30 years, beginning in Ireland, at Harrington’s Bar, in Glengarriff, Co.Cork.
Nick has played in folk and blues clubs in England as a solo artist, and has supported players such as the late Isaac Guillory, Martin Simpson and Richard Digance.
His album, ‘Feel So Close’, received glowing reviews, and one of his songs, ‘Not the Whiskey Talking’, was recorded by Martin Simpson on his CD, ‘True, Dare or Promise’ In 2008, he formed a duo in Ireland, called Veshengro with Johnny Burke ( Enda Wyatt ex An Emotional Fish),recording a double CD 'Trees in Your Window' and a new CD 'After Rain' in Nov 2013
In June 2013 Nick launched his new album 'Out of the Blue in Brittany', produced by Georges Breuil, who also plays on the disc along with Nélice, Stéphane Le Luyer and Noz Da
GEORGES BREUIL VIOLINIST
Georges trained as a classical, jazz and traditional violinist in France. He has been a professional musician for over 30 years, and he is a composer, as well as a multi-instrumentalist. Groups which have featured Georges include Calvin Russell, Tri yan, Zebda, For Men and the Dog, Les Naufrages, Ange,and Celtas Cortos, and several Irish music groups.
In 2009, he released his acclaimed solo CD ‘Ma Traversee’ covering a wide range of musical styles. Passionate about the traditional music of Brittany, Ireland and the Auvergne, Georges currently plays in a number of different line-ups; details can be found on his official web-site
